La pandemia del Covid-19 ha congelado las ciudades de medio planeta. Calles, plazas y monumentos nos ofrecen unas imágenes inéditas que nunca podíamos imaginar. Insólitas, casi irreales. Lugares fantasmales a la espera de que vuelva la normalidad. Las medidas sanitarias y el miedo ante lo desconocido han vaciado estos espacios públicos. Es casi como estar en una película apocalíptica, las pocas personas que hay por las calles son como sombras detrás de una mascarilla. Un gran vacío se ha apoderado de nuestras ciudades y el espacio y el tiempo parecen otros.

Estas sensaciones se acrecientan más si cabe en una ciudad como Cádiz, acostumbrados como nos tiene al bullicio de sus calles y plazas, y ahora desangeladas. Sus edificios, rincones, monumentos y parques son los mismos pero parecen otros. Reconocemos esa luz única de esta ciudad en primavera, pero ahora esta urbe se nos antoja mucho más luminosa. Desprovista de tener que ser el escaparate de la vida urbana, impresiona este escenario. Pero también el silencio apenas roto por los pájaros. Una ciudad de luz y de silencio. Como siempre, como nunca.
