Los aficionados a la astronomía de distintos países tendrán en los próximos días una excelente oportunidad de observar el cielo: Júpiter estará en su punto más brillante, según explica la NASA.

El mejor día para contemplar el mayor de los planetas de nuestro Sistema Solar será el 14 de julio, alrededor de las 20:00 GMT, cuando la Tierra se encontrará entre el Sol y Júpiter, ocasionando un acontecimiento, denominado 'oposición', informa el portal Universe Today.

Este fenómeno se produce cada 13 meses aproximadamente y ofrece a los astrónomos profesionales y aficionados con telescopios de calidad la oportunidad de ver el planeta con unos detalles sin precedentes. Además, el gigante gaseoso se ubicará en el punto de su órbita más cercano a nuestro planeta.

Actualmente, el rey de los planetas se está trasladando a través de la constelación de Sagitario (el Arquero). Para encontrarlo, hay que esperar una hora después de la puesta de sol y mirar hacia el sureste justo sobre el horizonte. Con cielos despejados y usando un pequeño telescopio también se podrán ver las cuatro lunas brillantes de Júpiter: Ganímedes, Calisto, Europa e Ío.
