Tushar's Stock Tips: Agüimes Recibe La Visita De La Fundación Para La Cooperación Al Desarrollo Doctor Manuel Madrazo

Un momento de la recepción a la delegación de la fundación sevillana

El Alcalde de Agüimes, Óscar Hernández, y la Concejala de Cooperación al Desarrollo del Ayuntamiento de Agüimes, Jéssica Santana, recibieron ayer a una delegación de la Fundación para la Cooperación al Desarrollo Doctor Manuel Madrazo de Sevilla.

La visita, encabezada por el coordinador general de la fundación, responde a que la citada ONG fue una de las entidades beneficiadas el pasado año por las subvenciones que otorga el Ayuntamiento de Agüimes a aquellos proyectos de solidaridad y cooperación al desarrollo económico y social de poblaciones desfavorecidas.
En concreto, el Ayuntamiento de Agüimes subvencionó con algo más de 7.000 euros dos proyectos de la organización en la República de Guatemala, repartidos en 2.822 euros para un proyecto de habitabilidad y acceso al agua potable en El Quiché, y 4.909 euros al fomento de tecnificación de la producción agrícola para la seguridad alimentaria en la comunidad de Arnal, en el municipio de San Garpar Ixchil.

La Fundación para la Cooperación al Desarrollo Doctor Manuel Madrazo se constituyó en 1998 para continuar la actividad del Doctor Manuel Madrazo, médico sevillano asesinado un año antes en Ruanda en un ataque a la sede de Médicos del Mundo en Gatonde, y en el que también murieron la enfermera leridada, residente en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, María Flors Sirera, y el fotógrafo de prensa madrileño, Luis Valtueña.
Su trabajo pasa por promocionar y colaborar en acciones de bienestar social y el fomento de la salud física y mental en los colectivos de personas que sufren cualquier tipo de agresión, bien sea por desplazamiento y desarraigo, catástrofes naturales o conflictos bélicos y sus consecuencias.

Entre los fines de la fundación, destaca la formación y cualificación en cooperación humanitaria, medicina, enfermería, logística, gestión de programas y seguridad, así como los de creación, finanaciación y desarrollo de proyectos de cooperación sanitaria, social, docente y cultural, tanto en Andalucía como en países en vías de desarrollo.

Este trabajo se ve completado con la promoción y publicación de los análisis de situaciones y estudios sobre la problemática sanitaria y social de cada uno de los colectivos asistidos por su voluntarios-as.
